Well, what can I say? Having deliberated as to whether I attended the Great British Care Awards in Bristol on November 12th I then went on to win my category! ( I still think the finalists should not have to pay full price to attend.) This makes this the third award I have won for my work this year!

I say I won, all credit still has to go to Dima Tsvetkov, without his amazing skills the dementia assistance cards, labels and clothing transfers would not be a reality. I may now be an innovator but I am no computer software designer.

I will now be heading to the National finals being held next March in Birmingham. I am happy to be able to say they are award winning as this may encourage more police forces to suggest people use them.

Useful notes when making some at home.

The cards come is sheets of 4 and you need 250gsm thickness card for the best results. Labels come 8 per sheet and it is best to use the whole A4 self-adhesive sheets as other labels may not match up. The clothing transfers use the special paper that is easily available online and in some high street stationery retailers. Follow the instructions and iron onto a firm surface and not an ironing board. Testing on a scrap of old material or  inside out is an idea too!

They have been proved to help the police return someone home faster when they are lost or have wandered.

The cards can also be altered by myself to explain different conditions such as Autism or diabetes. Please contact me for further information using the contact form at the top of the website or the comment form below this article.
